An Evening at La Mer

Getting to La Mer

It is a bit of a taxi ride away from where I live being located in the Jumeirah neighborhood. It isn’t on a Metro line, but it’s easy to get to by car or taxi.

Upon arrival I was surprised by how pretty it was with all the lights. It’s full of lit up walkways amongst shops and restaurants with little coffee and ice cream stands along the way…

Alcohol at La Mer…

I had heard that there were a few places you could get alcohol at La Mer which in Dubai is quite unusual. Most beach places unless they have a hotel don’t get permission for a licence. I wasn’t sure if anywhere would be serving alcohol during Ramadan but I was in luck…

Star N Bars- an American style bar was serving alcohol on their terrace complete with skyline views and an extensive drinks menu!! Excellent!

It was really lovely to sit out on the terrace and see the stunning views.

The raspberry and prosecco cocktails went down a treat at Stars n Bars

Cheers

Ramadan. Middle East. Surely they won’t be serving alcohol. Oh wait…

Overall, La Mer exceeded my expectations. It’s a great place for families, couples, groups and also just to have a wander on your own. There’s plenty of shops, restaurants and other cafes to keep you entertained.
In terms of food/drink, whether you’re after Turkish kebabs, Mexican quesadillas, burgers, Chinese noodles or a Starbucks, you will find a cafe or restaurant to meet your needs. As well as a range of awesome looking ice cream stands and stalls they also have a SALT for that lotus ice cream kick yum!!!

Have you been to La Mer yet?
